Mathias Hausmann, Baritone
Hausmann is a favorite of Vienna audiences and equally at home at the La Scala with Daniel Barenboim. He is widely recognized for his DVD and CD productions from the Salzburg Festival and Teatro alla Scala and has received high praise for his ‘great artistic range’ and ‘versatility and artistic charisma’. She has appeared in Dresden Opera and has been featured in the Glyndebourne, Aix-en-Provence, and Salzburg festivals. His interpretation of Schubert’s Die Winterreise, has been widely acclaimed, but he is equally successful in operatic roles, having appeared in the title roles of Wozzeck and Don Giovanni in the past year. Born in Israel, now residing in Canada, Saks has been charming audiences worldwide in critically acclaimed performances, as Claggart in Billy Bud, Hagen in Götterdämmerung, the Four Villains in Les contes d’Hoffmann and as Bluebeard. He has also performed the title role in Handels’ Hercules and in the Gramophone awarded Saul.
