About Vocal Arts DC
Hear world-renowned singers
and discover tomorrow's stars
You’ll hear them here first! Vocal Arts DC has given Washington recital debuts to many of the great singers whose names are familiar to lovers of vocal artistry throughout the world. We pride ourselves on identifying and bringing to Washington singers -- often already celebrated on the European opera and concert stage -- who are on the cusp of attaining world-wide fame and achieving sensational success on the US opera scene.
In this, our 21st season, we are excited about presenting two baritones, Mathias Hausmann and Florian Boesch, and two bass-baritones, Eric Owens and Gidon Saks, whose gorgeous voices and spectacular artistry ensure four thrilling evenings of song. Our first Italian artist, soprano/mezzo-soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci, much revered in Europe, and the lovely German soprano Lydia Teuscher will both be heard in their first American recitals. As always, our perennial favorite, the New York Festival of Song, returns with four wonderful singers in a program of solos and quartets. Similar treats are in store in our 2012-2013 season, continuing the tradition of a series that has been called "superb and always intriguing" by the Washington Post More Details >
